Are off road vehicles street legal in California?
Generally, ATVs and side by sides are not permitted on California highways, to include streets. The exceptions to this rule are as follows: you may cross a two-lane street at an angle of approximately 90 degrees. you may cross a street greater than two lanes only where such crossing is permitted by appropriate signage.
